A long journey ( week 16)
For being my frist semester this has been a long journey. It seems like just yesterday I was going off to pre-school leaving my mom at home and going off to one of the most exciting moments of my life... The Frist Day of School..one of many. Time flies by to going to middle school, entering high school, then of course graduating. Now, I have offically made it til the end of my freshman year of college. A different taste yet full of surprises. This has been a nice experience for me. It's been full of surprises from meeting a girl I went to kindergarden with to meeting my new best friend and how could I forget the learning. I have learned so much this year. From learning how properly write papers to actually doing a chemsitry experiment. This has been a life long experience that has been amazing.
College (week 15)
Ever since I was a toddler, I wanted to go to college. I remember having a conversation when I was younger about attending college with my dad. He said that they were just dreams and that if I wanted to go to college I should presue my dreams. When I was deciding if I wanted to go to college at such a young age my dad and I made a deal. He told me that if I finished high school and college, I would get a brand new convertible car. I asked him if it was my pick. He told me, yes its your pick. I'll take you to the dealer and you will pick out the car you want as soon as I get your certificate from you graduating. This deal has encouraged me to go to college and comtinue presuing my dreams. The transition from high school to college was very difficult. I felt like I was not going to survive the changes that were coming. At one point I wanted to drop out and go into the work force. Then I remembered that a Monjaras is never a quiter and continued with my challege of successfully completing college. College for me is a way of making myself better. I want to be able to spend as much quality time with my kids, unlike my parents that were never there for me when I wanted to do extra curriculam activities. Not only do I want to spend time with my kids when the that time comes but I also want to make sure that money will not be an issue in the household. For me going to college is the best option and the best way to spend my money. Like my parents said " Anyone can take you money and properties away but they can never take your education from you."
