What makes a family dysfunctional or functional? This is an interesting question because there is always a dysfunction in a functional family; otherwise it wouldn't be a functional family. In a dysfunctional family there is a lack of commutation with work and time. When there is a lack of communication the family members don’t know how to approach each other because they don’t have that communication that they need. Another reason that makes a family dysfunctional is lack of income; this may cause dysfunction of family and duties. This may cause high tension between everyone. Drugs and alcohol may play a role in a dysfunctional family and gender roles. Age difference is another factor that may cause a family dysfunction as well as lack to relate to each other. I think that in order to have a functional family there must be some sort of dysfunction to some extent.
